From the time we signed our contract until we completed the punch list we spent each one of the days on the project thankful that we selected Merit Construction. The Merit Team

“I’ve been with Merit for 16 years. I worked in the field for several years before transitioning into the office, and my focus has always been the same – put the customer first. It’s simple – we put the customer first, and we know success will follow. I think that philosophy gives our customers and employees confidence - expectations are clear, and we’re going to deliver a first class product that makes everyone proud.” - Mark Koehler, Senior Project Manager

Based in Atlanta, Merit employees over 75 personnel and serves clients throughout Georgia as well as the Southeast. The strength of Merit is found in its dedicated and experienced work force. Merit superintendents and projects managers are praised for being “extremely reliable and courteous and skillfully performing all aspects of work in a timely manner.” * Clients are often pleased to see the same superintendent on a new project that worked on a buildout several years prior. Merit’s success in sustaining a consistence work force is integral to how it maintains customers – with respect and loyalty. The Merit team and customers alike recognize the high level of expectations associated with each project, resulting in a shared sense of pride and fulfillment for every finished product.

Merit is unique in that it self performs many trades. The ability to self perform various trades, including framing, drywall, acoustics, concrete and plumbing, gives Merit an advantage over competitors in quality, scheduling and cost control. Merit also works with a core team of subcontractors who compliment Merit’s vision and work ethic, ensuring a seamless project for the customer.

Our Services

Merit Construction continues to provide exceptional service and value to any size project. With Merit on the job, my time can be spent working on the details of upcoming projects knowing that the details of the current project are being handled by the capable professionals at Merit Construction” – John Peeples, Director of Construction Services, TPA Realty Services, LLC

Merit is experienced in a number of construction types including commercial buildings, interiors, medical, dental, schools, labs, and telecom. As customers’ needs and interests have grown over the years, so has the diversity of Merit’s portfolio. Merit project managers each have specific areas of focus to ensure the client is receiving experienced and value added assistance on their project.

Merit employs three levels of job supervision that ensure a well organized and timely project. Project managers are involved from start to finish from estimating jobs to closely monitoring the projects through completion. Often, clients also develop a close working relationship with the onsite superintendent who is responsible for managing all daily activities of the jobsite. Finally, a general superintendent acts as a third level of supervision by supporting and verifying the onsite superintendent’s progress. From the office to the field personnel, Merit has a cohesive team that cares about the success of each project.

Merit sets itself apart by offering ongoing maintenance to its customers. While it’s easy to find a general contractor to build large projects, Merit also completes the smallest of tasks. Whether changing door hardware or replacing ceiling tiles, Merit’s field crew is reliable and responsive to simple requests.
